We are three friends who love to play music. Our band’s formation centered around a recurring restaurant gig in Ballard where we have played weekly since 2021 where we continue to hone our playing individually and as a collective. We play original material, Jazz, and cover materiel in the RnB, Country, and Pop music realms. Pico Trio is a Seattle‑based jazz trio featuring bassist Trevor Ford, pianist Dylan Hayes, and guitarist Martin Budde. We blend modern pop tunes with jazz tandards in deep respect for the jazz tradition. Trevor Ford brings a warm, melodic bass approach informed by his work with artists such as Orrin Evans, Anat Cohen, and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. Pianist and composer Dylan Hayes contributes a rich harmonic palette and nationally recognized writing, highlighted by his acclaimed album Songs for Rooms and People and his work with Meridian Odyssey on Origin Records. Guitarist Martin Budde adds a contemporary, exploratory edge, drawing from his work as a founding member of Meridian Odyssey and his own Origin Records release Back Burner. Together, Pico Trio delivers dynamic interplay, thoughtful originals, and fresh interpretations of standards—offering a modern Northwest jazz sound rooted in connection, curiosity, and collective expression.
