A two-time JUNO Award winner and four-time nominee, he is recognized as one of Canada's leading voices in global music. His album OYA was nominated for Global Music Album of the Year at the 2022 JUNO Awards, adding to two previous JUNO Awards received as a member of African Guitar Summit and Okavango African Orchestra.
