NO COVER 4:30pm Show Mill City Hot Club plays music that was first popularized in the 1930s by Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt, violinist Stephan Grappelli, and other popular musicians of the day. In keeping with this spirit of collaboration, on some nights, Mill City Hot Club are an acoustic ensemble with guitar, upright bass, and violin; other times, they have electric guitar, clarinet, saxophone, and drums. Many of the Twin Cities’ best musicians come together to play this jazz manouche music, which is eclectic, fun, entertaining, and nostalgic. NO COVER 4:15pm Show Trish Hurd-Paczkowski is a piano teacher and a former tango band director, arranger, pianist and singer. Now, she’s in love with jazz. Graydon Peterson is a bassist and composer living in Minneapolis. He regularly performs with a variety of vocalists and small ensembles, including Arne Fogel, Wayne Anthony, Firebell, Snowblind, Charanga Tropical, Twin Cities Latin Jazz Orchestra, Tropical Zone Orchestra, D’Lakes, Babatunde Leah’s “Rhythm’s Mama,” and ThoughtCast. Graydon has accompanied world-renowned jazz drummer Francisco Mela for a series of concerts in Havana, Cuba. Other widely known artists Graydon has performed with include Delfeayo Marsalis, Gary Bartz, Randy Brecker, Ben Wendel, Jorge Pacheco, and Mayito Rivera. Graydon is also the founder of a successful jam session held every week at Whitey’s Old Town Saloon in northeast Minneapolis.
