The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra is the resident orchestra at the National Museum of American History. Under the direction of saxophonist Charlie Young, the 17-piece big band pays homage to the classic swing jazz tradition, performing a combination of standards and some new arrangements. Here they host a pop-up jam session part of the Smithsonian’s Jazz Appreciation Month Concert series.
