Jazz Jam Sessions in SF Bay

Jazz Education Ensemble will perform their popular intergenerational (ages 8-80) jazz set at the San Jose Jazz Festival on August 8th from 3:15-4:00pm. Additionally, there will be a youth jam session beginning at 5:00pm led by Jazz Education Ensemble Director, Robert Jacobs. Both events will take place at the San Jose Museum of Modern Art, 110 S Market St, San Jose, CA 95113. All youth jazz musicians are invited to participate in this fun jam with young musicians from all of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Join a house band made up of alums from the San Jose Jazz High School All Stars U19s for a free, youth-focused community jazz jam during the Fest. If you’re 21 and under, bring your instrument and sign up for a slot. Or just take a break from the heat and listen as future jazz stars show you how it’s done.

Every Monday night Kyle Finley & The Dirty Works Jazz Band host Jazz Mondays @ Persona from 8 PM to 1:30 AM. This is a straight ahead jazz jam. All instruments and singers welcome. Small house band with drums, keys, upright bass, guitar, and amps available for jammers. Jazz jam open to all instruments & singers at a chill basement cocktail bar with a pool table and popcorn. If you're new, please introduce yourself to the band leader (the Bass Dude).

Every Wednesday, except the first week of the month, Kyle Finley & The Dirty Works Jazz Band host an open jazz jam @ The Lucky Horseshoe from 8 to 11 PM. This is a straight ahead jazz jam. All instruments and singers welcome. Small house band start the show and jammers are invited up to play all night. Backline includes keyboard, drums, upright bass, and amps. This jam runs every 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th Wednesdays of the month in Bernal Heights at The Lucky Horseshoe from 8 to 11 PM.
