James Lee Murray is a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist whose music draws from soul, blues, gospel, jazz, and 70’s R&B. Based in Poulsbo, WA, Murray blends the smoothness of Bobby Caldwell, the grit of Sam Cooke, and the warmth of James Taylor at his bluesiest. His debut album Resonate —a mix of Rhodes-driven grooves and gospel-infused piano ballads—captures both intimacy and fire. His current band consists of a seasoned group of performers who have all been active in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. In 2025, his band performed at the Greaseland Soiree and the Downtown Tacoma Blues & Jazz Festival, creating an experience that deeply connected with audiences, delivering authenticity and soul.
