Cherrie Adams and the Forman-Finley Band , a jazz sextet, started playing together in 2014. Cherrie, a retired award winning music educator, is a vocalist whose phrasing and conversational style draws you into the lyrics. Her warm sound combined with her deep connection to the music, all contribute to her compelling, authentic sound. Paul Finley is both a wonderful composer and lyrical pianist, and also sings fun vocal duets with Cherrie. Steve Forman, a dedicated guitarist has both a beautiful sound, and adds inventive solos to the mix. Clif Swiggett, a consummate musician brings formidable trombone and bongo chops to the group’s sound. On bass, Rick Leppanen (Pearl Django), a life-long musician brings a solid, swinging bass line, and drummer Jeff Busch (Duende Libre, Entremundos), one of Seattle’s most sought after musicians, brings a unique energy and spirit to every performance. Together, the band helps each song find fresh and often surprising moments through their arrangements of jazz standards, original music, and the occasional Joni Mitchell or Beatles song. For over a decade, the band has drawn crowds for a variety of club dates, concerts, Jazz festivals, and private events, and in 2015 recorded the CD “Only Trust Your Heart”. The band is currently working on a new recording for a 2026 release. Cherrie Adams-Vocals Paul Finley-Piano Steve Forman-Guitar Rick Leppanen-Bass Clif Swiggett-Trombone Jeff Busch-Drums
