ACOUSTIC ALCHEMY ‘Well at least nobody could ever accuse us of releasing too much music!’ quips GregCarmichael on the release of their latest EP “The Empire of Lights”, ‘but I think our fans know by now that we’re a little obsessive about only releasing music when we have something ready that we really love.’ The four tracks on their latest release visit familiar themes for longtime fans, from the western shuffle of “8,000 Miles” to the reggae flavours of “Alisio”, the upbeat joy of “Back toBack” to the laid back groove of “Other People”. ‘We hope there’s something here for everyone,” says Miles Gilderdale, “we’re very lucky that over the years we’ve found fans that just get what we’re doing, so we can wear our influences on our sleeves and not have to try and fit into any one style.’ With over 35 years of recording and touring, the band’s longevity may be due in part to that spirit of never trying to fit in, but to just make music that they love, ‘I feel really grateful that we’ve been on such a long journey with our fans and they’re still there with us.’ Greg says, ‘We talk after shows and it’s always such an honor to hear the stories of how our music has been the soundtrack to s

TICKETS $25 | ALL AGES Greg Goebel (Piano) Garrett Baxter (Bass) Christopher Brown (Drums) With special guest Chris Clark-Johnson (guitar) Upon Christopher Brown’s return to Portland in 2012—which was preceded by 13 years in the NYC area, as well as four years in the Marine Corps—the assemblage of his quartet quickly became one of note. And by 2017, his quartet had officially become the most visible Jazz group in all of Portland, with a steady weekly cadence of 3-4 performances, which was maintained until the start of the global pandemic. And even then, it took them no more than three months to return to a similar weekly performance schedule. Since 2017, the quartet has created a home for themselves at the famed 1905 Jazz club in Portland. And through their regular performances, they’ve not only helped to raise the profile of the venue to one of the world’s top 100 Jazz clubs according to Down Beat Magazine, but of Jazz itself in Portland. So in a market where it's difficult to maintain group's with the same personnel, it's arguable that the Christopher Brown Quartet succeeds as being one of (if not the best) Jazz "group" in all of Portland, which in turn gives them such a powerful

C huck Israels, revered as one of the preeminent bassists in the world, GRAMMY winner has performed and recorded with Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz, Bill Evans, J.J. Johnson, Rosemary Clooney, Tony Williams, Eric Dolphy, Jim Hall, Patti Austin, Gary Burton, George Russell, the Kronos String Quartet, and countless others. Among Chuck's many recordings as a bassist, some outstanding ones include: Coltrane Time , with John Coltrane; My Point of View , with Herbie Hancock ; Getz au Go-Go , with Stan Getz; and many recordings with the Bill Evans Trio, including The Town Hall Concert; The Second Trio; Trio '65; Live at the Trident; and Time Remembered . OHMA weaves a fusion of acoustic classical, folk, cosmic jazz, and electronic textures, sparkled with elemental nature sounds. In 2022, OHMA released their acclaimed debut album, Between All Things, and toured the North America supporting FKJ. The duo has also performed extensively on the west coast, including the Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle, and internationally in London, Amsterdam, Mexico City, and Japan performing on Mt. Fuji. Their second offering On Loving Earth (2024), shares intimate moments with nature, as the sounds were captured acoustically in the mountains of Altadena. Combined, the two instrumentalists play guitar, bass, piano, flute, saxophone, bass clarinet, clarinet, accordion, synthesizers, vocals, and more. Doors: 8:30pm Show: 9:30pm OKONSKI Okonski is the eponymous piano trio led by Asheville, North Carolina–based pianist Steve Okonski, featuring Michael Isvara Montgomery on upright bass and Aaron Frazer on drums. Often recording fully improvised performances directly to tape, the trio’s music has been described as meditative, introspective, and ethereal. Okonski’s compositions emphasize space and melody, pairing expressive piano lines with subtle rhythm and texture. A longtime collaborator with Durand Jones & The Indications, he has also worked with Say She She, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Scott McMicken, among others. All three Okonski releases, including 2025’s Entrance Music are out now on Colemine Records. Notes on Seating: Open seating, may be limited or standing room only. First come, first seated. Damion “Yella P” Pearson is a Memphis-born harmonica virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, and educator whose sound blends blues, soul, jazz, funk, and hip-hop, shaped by influences ranging from Marvin Gaye, John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder, Billie Holiday, and George Clinton to Southern rap icons like 8Ball & MJG and Playa Fly. Equally at home playing gospel in a Baptist church, gritty Southern soul in a Mississippi juke joint, or hip-hop on an underground stage, Yella P is known for his rare versatility and deep cultural range. Self-taught from age 13, he honed his craft busking on Beale Street alongside blues legend ‘Big Jerry’ Parnell before earning a Music Education degree from Tennessee State University as a member of the renowned Aristocrat of Bands. A fixture in the Memphis music scene, he has collaborated and shared stages with artists including Eric Gales, The Bar-Kays, Kirk Whalum, Eddie Floyd, Bobby Rush, and Robert Finley, and co-founded the award-winning duo Memphissippi Sounds with Cam Kimbrough—whose debut album Welcome to the Land charted international
