Led by acclaimed conductor and arranger Jessika Smith, the orchestra made its high-profile debut in March 2026 as a featured act of the PDX Jazz Festival. The ensemble boasts a formidable lineup of veteran performers and innovators, including a dynamic saxophone section featuring Mary-Sue Tobin, Michelle Medler, Chelsea Luker, and Mieke Bruggeman. The brass is anchored by trumpeters Sarah Owen and Aliyah Jackson, alongside trombonists Jenny Kellogg and Shayna Waldman. Driving the rhythm section are Kerry Politzer on piano, Leah Hinchcliff on bass, and Rivkah Ross on drums.
