The outstanding 7-piece band Hejira will be performing works by Joni Mitchell from the period regarded by many as the pinnacle of her mature writing: the late 70s. During this era, Joni released 6 brilliant albums (beginning with ‘Court & Spark’), culminating in the live recording, ‘Shadows And Light’; it is from these works that this band is drawing the body of its repertoire. Hejira is fronted by the brilliant Hattie Whitehead who has – in her own way – assimilated the poise, power and beauty of Joni’s vocals, and also plays guitar with Joni’s stylistic mannerisms. Expect the ‘great’ songs from Mitchell’s back catalogue! In particular, the band performs the masterpiece works that Mitchell recorded from ‘Court & Spark’ through ‘Wild Things Run Fast’; expect to hear such classics as ‘Amelia’, ‘Help Me’, ‘Hejira’, ‘Song For Sharon’, ‘A Case Of You, ‘Free Man In Paris’, ‘Coyote’ ‘Hissing of Summer Lawns’ etc.
