Lineup: Craig Handy - saxophone Bill O'Connell - piano Michael Goetz - bass Paul Rossman - percussion Richard Baratta - drums Grammy-nominated drummer and movie producer Richard Baratta began performing in NYC and elsewhere in the mid 1970's, with many notable jazz greats. In 1984, Baratta decided to alter paths and pursued a movie career. From 1984 to 2019, Baratta worked on over 50 movies, including "Desperately Seeking Susan," "The Wolf of Wall Street" and many more. In 2017 he decided to return to his roots and began performing music again, as well as producing films. Since then he has worked with acclaimed artists like Eric Alexander, Vincent Herring, Craig Handy, and others. In 2020 he released the Grammy Nominated "Music In Film - The Reel Deal" to critical acclaim. In 2022 he released "Music In Film -The Sequel." Here he presents his new album "Another Kind of Bird," which reimagines compositions by jazz saxophone icon Charlie Parker.

About Erena Terakubo is an internationally acclaimed saxophonist, flutist, composer, and educator from Sapporo, Japan. Known for her expressive artistry and technical mastery, she has performed worldwide with leading jazz artists including Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, Louis Hayes, Jon Faddis, and Christian McBride. She launched her career in high school with her debut album North Bird, which topped the Japanese jazz charts and earned a Gold Disc award from Swing Journal. Since then, she has released multiple albums and performed at premier venues including Blue Note New York and Kennedy Center. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and Manhattan School of Music, she joined Michigan State University in 2025 as Assistant Professor of Jazz Saxophone.
