About Celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the Dan Neville Nonet, as they are preparing for a recording session this fall thanks to the generous support of Chamber Music of America and the Doris Duke Foundation. This special evening highlights the intersection of Dan Neville’s jazz background and his deep connection to the folkloric music of Colombia’s Pacific Coast. The performance draws from his years of travel, study, and collaboration in Colombia — including time with the late maestro Diego Obregón — and his continued work as a composer in New York City. You will hear airs like currulao, aguabajo, juga, and abozao, paired with intricate horn arrangements and interpreted by some of New York’s finest jazz musicians.
