It's a milestone worth celebrating, and there are few better ways to do it than a night of his music delivered by this outstanding band. Coltrane's music covers an extraordinary range — from hauntingly beautiful ballads and meditative tone poems, to some of the most powerful and electrifying modal improvisation the genre has ever produced. For any saxophonist, his influence is simply unavoidable. Jamie Oehlers has spent a lifetime absorbing that influence, and he is one of the finest artists in Australian jazz to be leading this celebration.
