ACOUSTIC ALCHEMY ‘Well at least nobody could ever accuse us of releasing too much music!’ quips GregCarmichael on the release of their latest EP “The Empire of Lights”, ‘but I think our fans know by now that we’re a little obsessive about only releasing music when we have something ready that we really love.’ The four tracks on their latest release visit familiar themes for longtime fans, from the western shuffle of “8,000 Miles” to the reggae flavours of “Alisio”, the upbeat joy of “Back toBack” to the laid back groove of “Other People”. ‘We hope there’s something here for everyone,” says Miles Gilderdale, “we’re very lucky that over the years we’ve found fans that just get what we’re doing, so we can wear our influences on our sleeves and not have to try and fit into any one style.’ With over 35 years of recording and touring, the band’s longevity may be due in part to that spirit of never trying to fit in, but to just make music that they love, ‘I feel really grateful that we’ve been on such a long journey with our fans and they’re still there with us.’ Greg says, ‘We talk after shows and it’s always such an honor to hear the stories of how our music has been the soundtrack to s

C huck Israels, revered as one of the preeminent bassists in the world, GRAMMY winner has performed and recorded with Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz, Bill Evans, J.J. Johnson, Rosemary Clooney, Tony Williams, Eric Dolphy, Jim Hall, Patti Austin, Gary Burton, George Russell, the Kronos String Quartet, and countless others. Among Chuck's many recordings as a bassist, some outstanding ones include: Coltrane Time , with John Coltrane; My Point of View , with Herbie Hancock ; Getz au Go-Go , with Stan Getz; and many recordings with the Bill Evans Trio, including The Town Hall Concert; The Second Trio; Trio '65; Live at the Trident; and Time Remembered . We are proud to partner with Portland's Waterfront Blues Festival to offer a series of late night afterparties celebrating the legacy of American music and the blues! Doors: 8:30pm Show: 9:30pm OKONSKI Okonski is the eponymous piano trio led by Asheville, North Carolina–based pianist Steve Okonski, featuring Michael Isvara Montgomery on upright bass and Aaron Frazer on drums. Often recording fully improvised performances directly to tape, the trio’s music has been described as meditative, introspective, and ethereal. Okonski’s compositions emphasize space and melody, pairing expressive piano lines with subtle rhythm and texture. A longtime collaborator with Durand Jones & The Indications, he has also worked with Say She She, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Scott McMicken, among others. All three Okonski releases, including 2025’s Entrance Music are out now on Colemine Records. Notes on Seating: Open seating, may be limited or standing room only. First come, first seated. Afro Dead is a musical collective formed in 2022 by Aaron Feder to reimagine the music of the Grateful Dead in Afro-Pop styles, such as soukous, Afrobeat, high-life, reggae and more. He has been able to use his experience as founder and band leader of Alma Afrobeat Ensemble (four albums, four US tours) and co-founder of the record label Slow Walk Music (home to African music made in Spain) resulting in a Summer 2024 tour of the US and Canada, and a Fall 2024 tour of Spain. The band features the amazing singer London Kay , most known for singing with the internationally touring Grateful Dead act Terrapin Flyer and having toured with Heart . Aaron Feder has been a lifelong participant in the Grateful Dead’s music scene, having played and recorded with Grammy award winners Peter Rowan and Eric Krasno, as well as members of Phil Lesh and Friends , Greensky Bluegrass , Leftover Salmon , Everyone Orchestra and much more.
