Big Freedia Big Freedia Recognized as the larger-than-life ambassador of New Orleans Bounce music, Big Freedia is a nationally acclaimed hip-hop artist, TV personality, and cultural icon. The Queen of Bounce made waves with her electrifying feature on Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning hit, “Break My Soul” (2022), cementing her influence in mainstream music. Beyond her three critically acclaimed EPs—‘3rd Ward Bounce’ (2018), ‘Louder’ (2020), and ‘Big Diva Energy’ (2021)—as well as full length, ‘Central City’ (2023), Big Freedia has been featured on some of the most iconic tracks in recent music history. She lent her signature sound to Beyoncé’s “Formation”, Drake’s “Nice for What”, and even covered “Judas” for Lady Gaga’s Born This Way The Tenth Anniversary album in 2021. This summer, Big Freedia expanded her musical legacy with the release of her debut gospel album, Pressing Onward (August 2025), featuring collaborations with Tamar Braxton, K. A brand new series, ‘Big Freedia Means Business,’ chronicling Freedia’s triumphs in music, business and life debuted in 2023 on Fuse TV. Big Freedia is known for her infectious energy and personality. In 2019, she was the official host for the Met Gala IG Live Stream Red Carpet event and a host of 2021's Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve TV celebration. Known by her fans as the “Queen Diva,” Big Freedia is a loud and proud advocate for racial and gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights. The 3rd Annual Brooklyn Free Spirit Festival returns to Ibeam Brooklyn on Saturday July 11 & Sunday July 12. Produced by Siren Xypher Collective, with support from Alan Feller and Creative Music Studio. Brooklyn Free Spirit Festival, started in 2022, is a grassroots gathering of artists and music-lovers conceived by Artistic Director Mara Rosenbloom with production support from Melanie Dyer and Kyoko Kitamura, the three members of the Siren Xypher Collective. The festival comprises performances, workshops, a listening session and an interview of a legendary artist, all taking place at the musician-owned space Ibeam. Food and drinks are provided to facilitate conversation between set changes. The Brooklyn Free Spirit Festival convenes improvised music creatives and audiences to promote freedom of expression, inventiveness and social-bonding as an antidote to the oppression of all life forms.
