Experience Live at the Gantries—a free outdoor concert series at Gantry Plaza State Park in LIC. Celebrate the rich cultures of Queens with top local talent and stunning sunsets over the East River. Concerts take place on Tuesdays at 7 PM. It’s free—just show up! Bring a chair, picnic, friends—even your dancing shoes—and enjoy a summer of live music in the park! La Cumbiamba eNeYé, led by Martin Vejarano and established in 2000, is the first gaita music ensemble in the United States to introduce, perform, and teach this tradition. Rooted in the Afro-Indigenous-Colombian culture of campesino communities, gaita music brings together music, dance, and communal life, shaped by indigenous gaita flutes, Afro-Colombian drums, and European and Arab influences from the Iberian Peninsula. Vejarano presents a festive repertoire of original compositions written for the Gaitas y Tambores format, expanding the tradition while preserving its core identity.
