About Kevin Dean
McGill University identifies Dean as a trumpeter, organist, and professor of jazz studies in Montréal. Its faculty biography documents his 1984 arrival at McGill and his role designing the school’s first jazz curriculum.[1]
The biography also records Dean’s 1986 co-founding of the Jazz Association of Montreal and a catalog of original compositions, leader albums, and ensemble work. It separates his trumpet recordings from a later organ quartet with André White, Mike Murley, and John Nugent.[1][2]
Bent River Records documents more than 120 recorded compositions and thirteen releases as leader or co-leader. Dean’s artist-run Bandcamp provides complete streaming for Going Down Slow and Matrix, connecting that career account to current authorized listening.[2][3]
