Texas Poets Meet Texas Jazz

About

Poetry, spoken word, original composition, and contemporary jazz meet in a live collaboration at the Texas Music Museum. Double Vision Jazz Ensemble joins poets Eddie Vega and Jacqueline Miller for an evening exploring the relationship between language and improvised music. The program moves beyond simply alternating poems and jazz performances: Double Vision will create musical settings inspired by the rhythm, mood, imagery, and emotional character of the poets’ work. The collaboration is part of H Project Performing Arts Association’s interdisciplinary programming connecting jazz, composition, poetry, spoken word, Texas cultural history, and new creative work.
