The Liz Player Quartet Ft. Charmaine Ford Fri, 16 Oct, 8pm Liz Player returns to Church Street Studios with legendary New Zealand pianist and composer Charmaine Ford, joined by acclaimed young Sydney musicians Sabine Tapia on bass and Matt Simmonds on drums. Described as “a new star in the making” by The Australian, Liz has been mentored by jazz greats Judy Bailey, Kevin Hunt and Craig Scott, and has performed at Qudos Bank Arena, the ICC and Manly Jazz Festival. Following her 2023 live album, Liz became the 2025 2MBS Fine Music Sydney Jazz Artist in Residence and released her debut studio EP, Crystalline. This rare collaboration will feature previously unheard originals by Liz and Charmaine, evocative arrangements and Liz’s signature storytelling.
