Enjoy dinner and drinks with us this August 13, at the Legendary Blues Alley. Kyana - With a commanding presence, Kyana gives audiences a new sound that feels unlike any other experience. With soft warm vibes, her velvety tone croons and delights every time. Influenced by the likes of Marvin Gaye, Anita Baker and Mary J Blige, music became the first love and pursuit of this multi talented young artist. Learning various musical instruments and studying many forms of dance were early outlets of her creative expression. She was vocally trained in Washington, D.C. , her birthplace, under the teachings of premiere musicians of The Washington Performing Arts Society. As a performing member of WPAS, Kyana sang for Washington's Elite, performing annually at the Kennedy Center' Honor's Ball, and other great venues like the Mall on Washington for Independence Day. In 2013, to honor her father' legacy, she formed a band of top musicians, named them 4West, and performs throughout the United States regularly. Whether solo, or sharing the stage, Kyana transmutes what she interprets from the music in that moment, to the audience with passion and a precise objective, to make it good for the soul. Brigette "BJ Butterfly" Johnson is an amazing and extraordinary vocalist who has been captivating audiences and burning up the east coast with her skillful and masterful sound. She is one of the leading sought out artists in the Washington D.C. area that is selling out shows everywhere. She started her career in 2003 when she launched her singing career with a local group in Laurel, MD. (USA) Years later Brigette joined Brencore Entertainment, a local music production company that allowed her to grow her talents by singing the songs of Motown, performing choreographed moves to the hits of Diana Ross and the Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas, etc. With a repertoire that spans genres, Brigette has shared the stage lending her powerful background vocals with renowned artists like Ronnie Laws, Miki Howard, the legendary Wilton Felder of The Crusaders, including national recording artist Kevin Owens of Ray, Goodman & Brown, and the amazing Gerald Alston of he Manhattans. She is currently a member of the Legendary R&B group The Jones Girls, ft. Shirley Jones and the Legendary Blue Notes, featuring Tony Brooks. Currently, when Brigette is not performing with these iconic groups, she is paying tribute to various R&B legends such as Chaka Khan and Teena Marie, delivering unforgettable performances and nostalgic memories up and down the East Coast. Brigette also brings her dynamic energy to her own band, the BJ Butterfly Project, in the DMV area and beyond.
