Past performances include The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar , The Jazz Bistro , The Jazz Room, and The Montreal Jazz Festival . He is a graduate of both Mohawk College and Humber College’s music programs, was a featured emerging artist as part of Jazz FM 91.1’s Jazzology program, and performs with the 2018 Juno award nominated Brad Cheeseman Group .

Nic Bray Quartet, Jazz Fusion, Folk, Soul & Latin Influences The Nic Bray Quartet’s soulful yet modern sound weaves together a rich tapestry that draws from many differing musical traditions such as jazz, folk, R&B, soul, funk, and hip-hop, as well as Brazilian and Cuban diaspora musics. Having had compositions premiered/and or commissioned by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, and the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, to name a few, Manitoban composer and performer Nic Bray makes his Toronto vocal and saxophone debut playing originals and standards with the Nic Bray Quartet, just one month before making his international debut as composer in residence for the Next Step Clarinet Festival in Veracruz, Mexico. Matt Morgan Presents: A Tribute To The Oscar Peterson Trio July 4 @ 5:00 PM Matt Morgan - Guitar Evan Miles - Piano Jakob Durst - Saxophone Max Simpson - Bass No Reservations Pay What You Can Matt Morgan is a dedicated swing guitarist and prolific educator based in Toronto. Drawing inspiration from the giants of the tradition — Oscar Peterson, Lester Young, Joe Pass, and Charlie Christian — Matt brings a deep reverence for classic jazz to everything he plays. A graduate of Humber College’s jazz program, where he studied under Ted Quinlan, Nathan Hiltz, and Jocelyn Gould, he has since become a fixture in the city’s vibrant jazz scene. His freelance work has brought him alongside vocalist Caity Gyorgy, trumpeter Matt Smith, and clarinetist Taylor Maslin. Equally committed to the next generation, Matt maintains an active teaching practice rooted in the swing tradition.

Since stepping into the spotlight in 2021, she’s led high-energy ensembles across Canada’s top stages — Toronto Jazz Festival, Kensington Market Jazz Festival, Port Hope, Mont Tremblant, and a knockout appearance at Massey Hall’s Women’s Blues Revue where she belted out originals that brought the house down.
