Featuring jazz vocalist Akiko Aoki and Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Shunzo Ohno, this special evening brings together an exceptional ensemble of New York-based jazz musicians: Jeff Pittson (piano), Koji Cassetta (bass), and John Clay (drums). The program will feature timeless jazz standards alongside beloved Japanese melodies such as Kojo no Tsuki (“Moon over the Ruined Castle”) and Kaa-san no Uta (“Song for Mother”), beautifully reimagined through Shunzo Ohno’s sophisticated jazz arrangements. The evening will also include iconic Showa-era songs cherished across generations. Step into a nostalgic musical journey where the memories of Japan’s Showa era meet the vibrant spirit of New York jazz.
