He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from the University of Manitoba in 2023 and has been based in Toronto since September, 2024. He performs regularly with his own groups at Toronto venues like The Rex, the Jazz Bistro, Sellers and Newell, Hirut, and The Emmet Ray and has performed alongside musicians such as Dave Young, Ernesto Cervini, Ethan Ardelli, Mike Downes, Morgan Childs, Allison Au, Terry Clarke, and Neil Swainson.

He has worked and studied with jazz luminaries such as Harold Mabern, Terri Lyne Carrington, Kirk MacDonald, and Pat LaBarbera, and was a featured soloist on Caity Gyorgy’s Juno Award-winning album Featuring . A frequent performer at The Rex, Tymish has appeared with ensembles including the Jacob Chung Quintet, Ale Nunez group, Duncan Wilson Quartet and more.
