Multi-instrumentalist and 2026’s D.B.M.A. music award recipient for Best Jazz Artist Damon Terrell is an inspirational songwriter and music producer. Born in Detroit, MI and raised in Highland Park MI by his grandmother who bought him his first guitar at the age of 17. It was at that young age that he began teaching himself to play guitar with early influences such as Prince, Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, and later Yanni and many other smooth jazz artists. Damon Terrell began to create and develop a unique style of his own, adding a blend of Funk Jazz hint of Rock, Blues and Latin. He composed his first album “In my life” incorporated with a variety of styles which received a stellar award nomination for “Best inspirational jazz album” plus, radio airplay across the United States and international album sales in France, Germany and Guam.
