About Lisa Bassenge
Bassenge’s official biography calls jazz her home base while describing a practice that moves through pop, soul, and singer-songwriter music. Based in Berlin, she has toured in Europe and Asia, sung with the WDR and NDR big bands, and recorded with musicians and producers including Vinnie Colaiuta, Larry Klein, and Stuart Staples.[1]
Her projects include a trio with pianist Jacob Karlzon and bassist Andreas Lang, the electronic live-band project Micatone, and the band Nylon. The trio sequence runs through Borrowed and Blue, Mothers, and Wildflowers; the official discography lists 18 albums through the 2026 entry Two Whole Summers – Half A Life.[2][3]
Those projects explain the range inside a single vocalist page: standards and song interpretation sit beside original writing, electronic production, big-band work, and a long-running Berlin ensemble network.[1][2]
The trio
Bassenge’s trio with Jacob Karlzon and Andreas Lang anchors a three-album sequence culminating in Wildflowers.[1][2]
Micatone
The project combines electronic breakbeats and club production with a live band and Bassenge’s voice.[2]
Eighteen albums
Her official discography spans trio, Micatone, Nylon, and solo releases from 2000 through 2026.[3]
