About Gilbert Castellanos

Castellanos's official biography traces his path from Guadalajara through Berklee and CalArts to Black/Note, leader recordings, and long-running work with the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.[1]

SDSU identifies him as a San Diego-based artist in residence and documents his Young Lions Jazz Conservatory, Panama 66 programs, symphony and museum partnerships, and 2022 album Espérame en el Cielo.[2]
