Hirahara’s official biography identifies him as a New York-based keyboardist and composer who moved to the city in 2003. His training joined electronic and computer music at Oberlin with later study at CalArts, where his mentors included David Roitstein, Charlie Haden, and Wadada Leo Smith.[1]
