Rick Margitza

IMEP’s faculty biography documents Margitza’s studies at Berklee, the University of Miami, and Loyola University, followed by work with Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, Tony Williams, Chick Corea, Maria Schneider, and other bandleaders. It also records his Paris teaching role.[1]

Margitza’s leader discography runs from late-1980s Blue Note recordings through independent and label projects such as Sacred Hearts. Le Coq’s release documentation identifies that album as a leader program and provides recording-level context beyond the broader faculty chronology.[1][2]
