Career Overview

About Renee Rosnes

Rosnes' official biography traces her 1985 move from Vancouver to New York and subsequent work with Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, J.J. Johnson, Bobby Hutcherson, and James Moody. It also documents a leader catalog beginning at Blue Note in 1990 and a body of commissioned small- and large-ensemble composition.[1][5]

Her recurring ensemble work includes founding and directing ARTEMIS, playing in Ron Carter's Foursight Quartet, and performing a two-piano duo with Bill Charlap. Her 2024 album Crossing Paths adds a Brazilian-focused leader project with her arrangements, piano, electric piano, and selected vocals.[1][2][4][3]
