Ralph Moore

Second Floor Music follows Moore from London to Berklee College of Music and then New York, where he joined the Horace Silver Quintet in 1981. Its biography documents subsequent work with Roy Haynes, the Mingus Dynasty, Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, and an extensive recording practice.[1]

Moore moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and spent fifteen years in the Tonight Show band before returning to leader recording. Three Score marked that return in 2019, while the authorized Criss Cross edition of Rejuvenate! preserves his 1988 quintet with Steve Turre, Mulgrew Miller, Peter Washington, and Marvin Smith.[1][2][3]
