Mark Lewandowski

Lewandowski's official biography traces his path from Nottingham through the Guildhall School and Juilliard to a New York performance career. It documents his work as both bandleader and sideman while keeping his own three leader recordings distinct from engagements with Wynton Marsalis, the Mingus Big Band, and other ensembles.[1]

His leader catalog develops three different trio concepts. Waller reworks music associated with Fats Waller, Under One Sky presents Lewandowski's original compositions after his London-to-New York move, and A Bouquet (for Lady Day) uses the music and relationships around Billie Holiday as its organizing frame.[3][4][5]
