The Canadian Jazz Archive identifies Turcotte as an Ottawa-born trumpeter and flugelhorn player raised in Sudbury. It documents study at the Banff summer jazz workshop, Humber College, and the University of Toronto, followed by teaching in Toronto's university jazz programs.[2][1]
