About Julia Hülsmann
Hülsmann’s official biography traces her 1991 move to Berlin for jazz-piano study at the University of the Arts and the formation of her own trio in 1997. It documents composition, songwriting, teaching, and ensemble leadership as distinct parts of her practice.[1]
The official project and music archives move from poetry- and song-based collaborations to long-running ECM trio, quartet, and octet recordings. Vocalists, strings, and saxophone appear in specific editions rather than as permanent additions to one group.[2][3]
