Career Overview
About Joe Lovano
Lovano's official biography traces his route from Cleveland and Berklee into a career as a saxophonist, composer, producer, and educator. It documents both his long teaching association with Berklee and an ensemble practice extending from trios and quartets to a horn-rich nonet and orchestral projects.[1]
From 1991 through 2016 Lovano released twenty-five leader albums for Blue Note. His subsequent ECM work introduced Trio Tapestry with Marilyn Crispell and Carmen Castaldi, collaborations with Enrico Rava and the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, and the Paramount Quartet with Julian Lage, Asante Santi Debriano, and Will Calhoun.[1][2][4][3]
