Career Overview
About Henry Cole
Cole's official biography identifies Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, as his hometown and dates his start on piano to age four and drums to age nine. His training continued at Escuela Libre de Música de Mayagüez, Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, Berklee College of Music, and Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with John Riley.[1]
The biography and leader discography connect his own Villa Locura music to a long association with Miguel Zenón's quartet. They also document Escuelas en Ritmo, the outreach program Cole established in Puerto Rico in 2018 to bring performances, rhythm workshops, and music instruction into schools.[1][2]
