Kristin Korb The Vocal Side Of Ray Brown

About

“Generous, life-affirming music, shot through with (but not swamped by) personality and literate artistry alike.” – Jazz Journal Bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb is celebrated worldwide for redefining the bass-and-voice format. A protégé of Ray Brown, she has built a three-decade international career across the United States and Europe. With more than a dozen albums as leader—including "Sweet Dreams" (2024), exploring the music of Eurythmics and Annie Lennox—Korb brings a buoyant swing feel and crystalline vocals that recall Ella Fitzgerald, alongside bass virtuosity firmly in the Ray Brown tradition. Her new project celebrates 100 years of Ray Brown. The Vocal Side of Ray Brown is a curated program that includes some of Korb's favorite treasures from his trio songbook, songs inspired by lessons she learned from him, and some original gems that you might not have heard before.
