CELEBRATING ARI BROWN: Free concert! Kickoff to the Chicago Jazz Festival!! Tuesday Sept 1st at The Gateway Theater in the Copernicus Center on the northwest side of Chicago. This event will feature Delmark recording artist and Chicago jazz saxophone legend Ari Brown joined by longtime collaborators whose collective artistry has helped shape his unmistakable sound: pianist Kirk Brown, bassist Yosef Ben Israel, drummer Avreeayl Ra, and percussionist Dr. Cuz. Together, these musicians represent decades of shared musical experience, performing repertoire drawn from Ari Brown’s recordings, original compositions, and spontaneous improvisations that celebrate the creative freedom at the heart of Chicago jazz.
