About A group of accomplished, veteran jazz musicians, the George Cotsirilos Quartet’s widely acclaimed 2022 CD, Refuge was named by Downbeat magazine as an editors’ pick, and as one of the best albums of the year. Their 2018 CD, Mostly In Blue received similar praise, was also named by Downbeat as one of the best albums of the year and spent over three months in the top 50 on the national Jazz Weekly radio charts, rising to number 15. Quartet members have performed with such luminaries as Etta James, Tommy Flanagan, Eddie Harris and Joe Lovano, among many others. At the Backroom, the quartet will perform original compositions along with nuggets from the jazz canon.
