About
Ray Daike Ray Daike is a New York-based professional jazz guitarist and music educator distinguished by his masterful technique and a lyrical voice that carries the torch of the modern jazz tradition. Heavily inspired by Wes Montgomery and Pasquale Grasso, and having studied directly in Barry Harris’s legendary workshops, Ray delivers a profound and genuine swing feel to modern audiences. Through his dedication to the bebop language, he translates intricate piano-style harmonies onto the guitar with a sophisticated and organic approach. Ray’s debut leadership album, Ray Daike I, features a powerhouse rhythm section including the legendary bassist Ron McClure and drummer Andrew Pastorino. Highly respected in the New York jazz scene, Ray also maintains a close musical collaboration with the renowned pianist Kuni Mikami. His rising influence has been recognized with a featured 2-page interview in JAZZ in magazine and an appearance on the back cover of The Walker’s. Beyond the stage, Ray shares the essence of traditional jazz guitar with a global audience through his successful online platform and YouTube channel with over 10,000 subscribers. Also, just in case it helps with the website, press releases, or social media promotion, here are the short bios for my incredible band members.
