Alfira Ahmatjan (Jazzfira) is a New York City–based Uyghur jazz vocalist, composer, and pianist. Born into a musical family, she began studying music at an early age. As the first Uyghur jazz singer, Jazzfira is known for developing a distinctive musical voice that brings together the rich traditions of Uyghur music and the freedom of jazz. With a background in jazz studies and a foundation in composition and classical piano, her work has been presented at international music festivals, and she performs regularly throughout New York City. Jazzfira brings a warm, intimate, and emotionally nuanced presence to the stage, creating a sound that is deeply rooted in her heritage, yet unmistakably her own.
