Eternal Wind takes music written for imaginary worlds and uses it as a launchpad - "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts, "To Zanarkand" and the final approach to the ruins in Final Fantasy X, the haunted "Lost Woods" of The Legend of Zelda - rebuilding the feeling of an open world through collective modern jazz improvisation. Guitarist Owen Chen leads the New York-based ensemble, drawing on bebop, post-bop, and contemporary jazz with threads of classical, world music, pop, and R&B running through it. BroadwayWorld called their arrangements "tender, almost aching"; Paris-Move described a sound with "a cinematic quality, painting landscapes and characters through melody... offering listeners not just music but immersive worlds."
