About

Alexis Cole is an internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist, pianist, educator, and producer. A Top Winner of the Jazzmobile Vocal Competition, third-place winner in the Montreux Jazz Vocal Competition, and finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, she has released fourteen albums on Motéma, Chesky, Venus, and Zoho Records, and has been featured as a vocalist on recordings by Harold Mabern, David Finck, and others. Her discography spans an impressive range of settings and styles—from big band recordings with the Taipei Jazz Orchestra (including orchestral strings), to the hard bop of One for All, to an intimate collection of Disney love songs with pianist Fred Hersch, Pepper Adams originals with Eric Alexander, collaborations with guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, a Christmas recording featuring choir and more than fifty musicians, and her latest release, Taking My Seat: A Musical Inheritance , with her longtime trio, marking her debut as a pianist. She served for six years in the U.S. Army as the featured vocalist with the West Point Band's Jazz Knights Big Band.
