Her most well known recordings feature her fronting big bands and jazz orchestras, the richness and power of those large ensembles perfectly complementing her voice, or leading the Ella Fitzgerald Quartet through high-octane club gigs. However, throughout her career she also recorded a series of intimate duet albums, stripping things back to just her voice and a piano accompanist. Melbourne based duo Camilla Burrows and Caleb Wilson shine the spotlight on these classic but underrated duet recordings, recreating Ella’s songs with the warmth and humour that is shared between two long time friends and collaborators.
