Mark de Clive-Lowe Mark De Clive-Lowe Mark de Clive-Lowe is a Tokyo-based composer, pianist, and electronic music producer whose 25-year career defies easy categorization - moving fluidly between jazz, broken beat, house and cinematic electronica. Born of Japanese and New Zealander heritage, his music is rooted in the principle of onkochishin - using knowledge of the past to illuminate the future. His 20+ album discography includes Heritage, a deep dive into his Japanese roots, and Past Present (Tone Poems Across Time), a deeply personal ambient-jazz meditation on memory and ancestry. He has collaborated with Harvey Mason, Pino Palladino, Moodymann, Jody Watley, and many more. Whether at the piano or behind the machines, MdCL moves seamlessly between worlds and makes them one.
