This multi-bill act features a lineup of improvising musicians based in D.C. and New York City. Gian Perez is an electric guitarist, improviser and composer whose work focuses on the subversion of form. Vibraphonist and trombonist Selendis Sebastian Alexander Johnson performs a repertoire of varying Black American music forms, primarily rooted in contemporary jazz and improvisation. Nelson Dougherty is a D.C.-based guitarist, composer and educator, best known as a member of experimental jazz group ¡FIASCO!. Saxophonist Zach Dixon draws inspiration from musical storytellers like Sun Ra and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
