Estefane Santos trumpet · Austin Bassarath tenor sax · Jaume Vilaseca piano · Manuel Luque double bass · Cecilia Collaço drums The quintet led by trumpeter and composer Estefane Santos presents a vibrant and contemporary approach to samba jazz, incorporating Afro-Brazilian rhythms and a modern acoustic jazz aesthetic. Formed in Barcelona in 2024, the group debuted at Jamboree and has since developed an active presence between Europe and Brazil. The project highlights the diversity and prominence of Black women in instrumental music, bringing together identity, original creation, and a contemporary vision of Brazilian jazz. Their repertoire is based on compositions by Estefane Santos , featured on her upcoming album Resilience – Samba Jazz , scheduled for release in June 2026. The works combine precise arrangements, collective improvisation, and a sound that dialogues with samba, contemporary jazz, and the many rhythmic roots of Brazil.
