Fulton Street Collective presents an album release performance with CHRISTOPHER LUCAS WILSON TRIO on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:30pm. The evening will feature live painting from visual artist Kimmy Noonan. Christopher Lucas Wilson is a Chicago-based, hard-swinging jazz pianist who leads the Christopher Lucas Wilson Trio (CLW Trio). Deeply rooted in the traditions of bebop, classic blues, and the rich history of jazz piano trios, his music focuses on the uplifting, energetic nature of hard swing… Originally from metropolitan Detroit, Wilson studied under legendary figures like Marcus Belgrave and Bess Bonnier. He came up through the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Civic Jazz Program and Michigan State University’s jazz program….Critics often note his lyrical touch, thoughtful arrangements, and dynamic ensemble interplay, drawing stylistic comparisons to masters like Hank Jones and Tommy Flanagan.
