Saxophonist and composer Holly Moore was the MIJF’s Take Note Jazz Leader in 2020, and after being awarded an ABC Jazz Composition Commission, in late 2023 she released her first recording, ‘Reunion’ , to high acclaim. This was followed a sextet record, ‘ FLOOD’ (on Namboku Records), released in December 2024. In the last few years, Moore has been leading her own projects as well as playing with the Australian Art Orchestra. She is an artist with a unique voice that speaks to new and exciting changes in Australian Improvised Music. Her compositions have been described as “majestic” (The Age). In this Quartet. Moore (alto saxophone) is joined by a powerhouse rhythm section of Aaron Choulai (piano), Robbie Finch (double bass) and Luke Andresen (drums).
