Chris Lowry and the Cool Blue North, Cabaret style, jazz-blues interpretations of great songs Chris Lowry and the Cool Blue North is an intimate cabaret-style group of Toronto-based artists who bring fresh interpretations to the work of great songwriters. Chris Lowry (vocals) has recorded two albums, the most recent in 2024 with The Cool Blue North on the Ecotone label. His warm baritone voice interprets a wide range of songs by great song writers. He is also an award-winning producer who has worked both as a film maker and publisher. Tom Melville (keyboards, arrangements) has played keyboards with the Cool Blue North for the past six years. He also plays and records with a number of other bands in Toronto including the Advocats (big band swing/dance), the Octokats (west coast jazz), The Way Back (60’s – 80’s rock and pop) and Soulidified (60’s R & B).
