Drummer, percussionist, composer Jake Shandling has played music his entire life. After graduating from the Berkeley High School jazz program, he has gone on to study with great teachers like Eddie Marshall, Jeff Ballard, Eric McPherson, and Manley “Piri” Lopez. Jake has performed with artists including Slavic Soul Party!, Zach Moses, Dayna Stephens, Kai Lyons, Joe Warner, Ben Goldberg, Giulio Xavier Cetto, Noel Jewkes, and Groundation throughout the USA and Europe at venues including the Jazz Gallery, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Winter JazzFest, Stanford University, Barbés, and The Owl. After fruitful years in New York City, Jake is based in his native Bay Area. He is grateful for the means and privilege to connect, express, and uplift through music.
